The high pressure area yesterday
over the central portion of the United
States now overlies the Atlantic states,
and a new high pressure area occupies
the north Pacific states. A trough i f
low pressure extends from Arizona
northeastward to Manitoba. Light to
moderately heavy rain has fallen in the
south Atlantic and east gulf states snd
llaht showers have fallen at scattered
filacea In the north Pacific and northern
ntermountaln states. It Is much colder
in the gulf and south Atlantic states
and correspondingly warmer in the
Rocky mountain statea, Missouri and
upper Mississippi valleys. Frosts oc
curred this morning in western Oregon
and western Washington.
