WEATHER REPORT
A trough of low pressure extends
from British Columbia southeastward
to Oklahoma, and thence east and north
to the lake region. A new high pres
sure area Is approaching the Oregon
coast, and another new nigh pressure
area overlies the upper Mississippi val
ley. The barometer -is relatively high
over the Atlantic states. During the
last 24 hours light rain or snow has
fallen at scattered places . alonR the
northern boundary of the United States
from the Pacific ocean east to New
England. It is cooler in the north Pa
clflo states and much colder In the
Dakotas, Saskatchewan, New England
and the middle Atlantic states.
The Indications are for clearing
weather in this district, with light frost
tonight in western Oregon and western
Washington. It will be cooler tonight
east f the Cascade mountains.
The tributaries to the Willamette
river are now all falling, and the main
stream Is falling at Harrisburg and
Salem, but a slight rise has occurred
at Eugene and Albany. The Columbia
river la rising rapidly at all stations,
but nowhere does the water approach
the flood stage. The Willamette river
at Portland will remain nearly on a
stand todav and fall slowly Wednesday
and Thursday. '
