A jury In Judge O'Day's department
of the circuit rlurt yesterday decided
that L Oroobman la not entitled to
financial recompense for his arrest on
the charge of malicloua deatruotlon of
property and subsequent confinement
among the hoboes and vagrants at the
city Jail. He had sued W. Rosummy
for 3,060 damages, but the defendant
showed that he had consulted 'an at
torney beore swearing to the complaint
and testimony showed that he had prob
able cause for believing Oroobman guil
ty was submitted, although the charge
was dismissed wnen neara in mo mu
nicipal court.

Councilman Vaughn has asked that the
ordinance relating to streetcar fenders
be taken from the table and acted upon.

providing for detectives to act as police
sergeants. The measure came from the
ways and means committee and for that
reason the measure was defeated. Coun
