iness transacted was the letting of con
tracts for road Improvements. Bids on
rradlng and building bridges on about
"H miles of the Nehlem road between
rhe 16-mlle post and the Junction with
the Elsie road were received as fol
lows: J. C. Dunkln. 11.800 ner mlla- I
Jamleson, $1,820 per mile; Alex
Normand Jr.. SI. 888 rer mile: Gum
Gronnell, $2,368 per mile and $1.60 per 1
lineal foot for bridges: J. C. Wherry. I
on three miles ranging from $1,790 to I
$1,900 per mile. The contract was
awarded to J. C. Dunkln with bonds
fixed at $2,000 and work to be com
pleted within on& year. Alexander
Duncan bid $7,422.60 on grading and
building bridges on about two and three
fourth miles of the 131k creek road and
the bid was accepted. ' The bonds were
fixed at $2,000 and the work is to be
completed by August 1.
