DEEP, DARK MYSTERY
FOR SCHWENKSVILLE
Grace Brown, sweetheart of Ches
ter A. Gillette, and the latest photo
of Gillette, who must die In the elec
tric chair for the murder of the girl,
unless the supreme court of the
United States grants him a new trial.
The New York court of appeals re
fused to interfere but notwithstand
ing the small hope held out with the
youthful slayer, he is confident he
wll escape capital punishment
through either the supreme court or
or an appeal to Governor Hughes
for the pardon or commutation of
sentence.
(Bpaeial Dispatch te The Jooraal.)
Olympla. Wash, Fb. 10. Th legal
action in which th leading theater of
th state have combined to defeat, if
posalbla, the Sunday cloalng act passed
by th Jeglalatur of 1891 was argued
before th supreme court yesterday
afternoon.
Th Issue 1 presented an applica
tion for a writ of habea corpus for
vrwiik ii. rmnnellan. manager of a Se
attle theater who, wa arrested for vio
lating th law.
In a recent eaae in which Charle
Herald waa the defendant the supreme
court upheld the constitutionality or
me act in an opiniuii. a ihuuuh . -rehearing
wa filed and final Judgment
ha been withheld. Th attorney for
Donnellan are asking th court to
modify tM opinion only to the eitent
or holding that the law la unconstitu
tional In th particular of forbidding
th conducting on Sunday of bualneaa
not 'dangarou to th publlo health,
morals or safety. Th act forblda th
conducting on Bunaay or race course,
cockpit a, saloons and gaming aa well
as theater. It I maintained that be-
raue th theater buslneos Is a iswrui
occupation It la not In the same class
with saloons, and that the legislature
haa not th constitutional power to
prohibit the following of It on Sunday.
IDAHO PEOPLE PLAN
BIG COYOTE HUNT
(Special OUpateb to The Journal.)
Bayvlew, Ida, Teb. 1. What
promise to break the monotony and
create aom excitement at th earn
time for the "ranchers just prior to the
opening of spring work here Is a big
coyote roundup planned for next week
and which will be participated In by
local people with gun and doga.
Albert Blakney of thla place has a
number of Imported foxhounds and I'
the originator of the plan for a quick
riddance of th coyote peat for a time
at least.
Several days will be spent In the
chase and it I hoped by the farmers
that a great number of theae animals
will be destroyed, for their depreda
tions of late have become numerous in
the kllltns- of amall farm animals, and
especially towards th chicken roost.
SENTENCE TOO LIGHT,
COMPLAINS PRISONER
(Special Dtipstch to Tbt Joareil.)
Loa Angelea. Feb. 29. Th district
court of appeals today established a
precedent in denying th queerest re
quest ever maae lur a qew ini. i no
appellant wns Harrison Oliver, a con
victed criminal, who urged aa his reason
that hie eentence of aeven years for
grand larceny after having once served
time. for burglary waa lesa than 'the
minimum prpvided by statute. His at
torney advanced the argument that this
made the Judgment of th convicting
court void.
Th higher court hold that It. I not
the policy of th law to allow a defend
ant to complain of error In his own
favor, and that the mistake he com
plains of will not be corrected to his
own detriment He will have to be
satisfied with a seven-year term.

There Is Not the Slightest
Necessity for Leaving
Portland to Look
for Proof
The .experience given below by this
well-known citizen of Portland is easily
proven. The proof he offers for his
convictions can safely be left with the
reader. It la a difficult matter to de
scribe an aching back or any ..of tbe
Ills caused by disordered kidneys. How
to cure the trouble Is of much more
Importance, and the most electing resi
dent of Portland cannot ask for any
better authority on this point than that
given by D. D. Coffey, general delivery
clerk at the Portland postofflce, and
living at 428 East Morrison street.
"Portland, Oregon, who saya: When I

Where Others Fail
I want to Impress it upon every weak man
that I can make him strong. vigorous,
healthy, alert and free from tvery taint of dis
ease and weakness. I have limited my spe
cialty in practice to only a few of the more
Important disorders, so that I could KNOW
these thoroughly. My experience along this
on path for twenty-five year qualifies me to
sav positively that auoh troubles as Spermator
rhoea, Z.ost Igor, Varicocele, Hydrocele, Gonor
rhoea, yphUl. Btrtotor and "Weakness" can
be cured perfectly so aa to stay cured.
MY TREATMENT FOR. WEAKNESS
Functional derangement such as premature loss
of power, etc, is neither a "weakness" nor a
disease. It Is a symptom of prostatic disorder.
To stimulate activity bv the use of powerful
tonlca 1b an eaay matter, but such results are
merely temporary drug effects. Most dortors
treat "weakness" in thla manner because they do
not know how to cure the real cause of the
derangement I am the only physician employ
ing scientific and successful methods. My treat
ment ia a local one entirely and corrects every
abnormal condition of that vital center, - the
prostate gland. My cures are real cures and are
permanent.
