New York. Feb. 13 While startlnc
with a rather firm undertone, the stock
market rapidly fell Into the hands of
knockers today and almost every Issue
fell from grace before today's session
came to an end. Missouri Pacific was
feature that came in for - persistent
hammering and Juggling by the bear ele
ment and It cost shareholders of the
road a pretty penny for the knockers'
work.
Call loans continue to sell at an In
terest rate that would generally induce
muth trading In the stock market but
this is not the case at present, for tha
public seems to have little appetite for
stock investment, although today's sales
were larger than usual. They showed a
total of 727,600 shares.
At the close of the market American
Smelter common had a net loss of S
points and Louisville & NaRhville
dropped points. Missouri 1'aclllo
lost 2 points during the day.
