Canadian Pacific waa the strong feat
ure for the day and held nearly a point
'advance at the end of the seaaioh. There
were fractional advances in Northern
Pacific, Southern Pacific, Chesapeake &
Ohio and Atchison shares. A few others
also made small gain.

Outside creameries report being un
able to market their product even at

grades under this figure. All sort of
price ar ruling in fresh, grades and
cold-storage butter can be had at al
most any price you choose to pay. All
cold-storage' operators lost money this
season unless they unloaded early. The
storage houses are atlll filled with sup
pile and there will be a demand for
thla product for but another month.
That la too ahort a period for holder
to unload In, and aome have already
started to sacrifice values. The ad
vance to 40c by the two creameries was

Liverpool was dull and somewhat
threatening at the start with quotations
unchanged. May stood at 7s 7d, but
the latter trading was more active and
with bids for wheat more pronounced.
May closed at 7s 8d, an advance of
penny over yesterday s rinal.
In thin market corn and oat trading
waa even weaker than in the wheat pit.
Corn closed to c down and there
was a loss of to c in oats. Tnere
was a slight steadying of provision de
mand and May advanced 5c, although
hogs dropped 6c in the yards today.

nate the roses to be used and part or
the money to be expended in planting

the Home Telephone company have
been employed to work on the line and
will rapidly place it m ahape for op
