Cine to Men Who Stole Whiskey on
Conch Street Dock.
Private detective are on the trail of
men who broke Into a case of whiskey
on Couch street dock yesterday and
emptied .it of every bottle. The men
vt paruauy intoxicated on the contents
and it is believed that this will lead to
their detection.
The case of liquor had been sent to
dock .for ehlpment on the steamer
Alliance, but as the craft was late get
ting in it had to be left on the dock for
several hours while the hold was being
emptied of northbound freight. In the
meantime the case was broached.
The Alliance will leave for Coos bay
tonight although she did not reach
Couch street dock before 11 o'clock yes
terday morning. Captain Olson says
dense fogs detained him at every turn
of the run and he considers himself

The Coos bay liner Breakwater will
reach Oak street dock at 7 o'clock to
night unless held up by fogs on the
river. It is reported the second one of
the four men injured on the Breakwater
died at Marshfleld last week. .

Ths ranchers have decided upon exter
mination. All the boys and Yuen of that
part of the county will join In the drive,
together with a number from this city.
Captains, leaders and scouts have been
chosen. A long lino will be formed and
the coyotes routed from the brush and
driven to the central rendezvous. No
