The disturbance that made its ap
pearance over Vancouver Island last
evening has moved rapidly eastward and
thia morning is central over the Cana
dian province of Alberta. Light to mod
erate rains over Oregon. Washington,
Idaho and western Montana attended Its
eantward course - accompanied by high
winds In ths -Interior; but along the
coast the winds were remarkably light,
conaiderln ths severity of the- storm.
The following maximum wind velocities
were- reported: Portland, 21 miles
southwest; Seattle, 34 miles southeast;
Spokane, 22 miles, southwest, and Boise,
