A larga ocean ateanier waa seen, in

have been a mirage,-: t - f .
i'The vessel was seen over what we
call TUlamook pas, a rift In the coast
mountains about . 45 miles from Port

by the, keeper, Mr. Kay, and a viaitor.
The visitor saw It first with his naked

-"There la no possibility of It having
been the real ocean tnat was seen, lor
that would be a physical Impossibility
because of the curature of the earth.
"The top f the tower is about 1,200

figured out that the air Una to the sea
would be 65 miles, Fifty miles is be.

men could 'not have seen tne real ocean.
i"l attribute the sight to a reflection
in the sky the atmospheric condition
