THIS extraordinary sensational silk sale is the result of the
biggest silk purchase ever made on the Pacific Coast
closing out the entire stock'of sample pieces of the largest
and most reliable sjlk importing house in North America,
with whom we place enormous silk orders every year and who
reserved for us this extraordinary yearly clearance of silks whicl
are ordinarily sold only to one of the great New York dry goods
houses. Every individual pattern represents either a staple product
that is the best of its kind or some new novelty in highest favor for
fall and winter, 1907. Every piece is new and bright as the morn
ing, but the entire lot was closed out to us at less than cost by the
importer, who is already preparing his shelves for the next year's
business. Considering the enormous demand and constant increase
in price of all silks which is taking place, these silks are offered at
the most ridiculously low price we have ever known or heard about.
In order that every Portland woman may examine these silks at her leisure
before the sale begins, we are making a great two-day display in our Third
street window space. None of these silks will be sold until Friday morning
at 8 o clock.
Fifteen thousand yards of highest class new 1907 Fancy Silks for Dresses, Waists, Skirts, etc., Shirt
waist Suits, etc., embracing every conceivable color, shade and pattern. The greatest assortment of high
class fancy silks ever shown by any one Portland store. The styles include Plaids, Dresdens and Pom
padours, Roman Stripes, Persian effects, Print Warp Plaids, Oriental Stripes, and many other stylish
effects. The fabrics are Messalines, Moire Antique, Chiffon Taffeta, Gros de Londres, Merveilux and
Surah. Reg. values from $1.50 to $2 a yd. The greatist bargain sale of many vears at the low price of only
IMPORTANT None on sale until Friday morning at 8 o'clock. An extra counter, extra salesmen and extra wrappers to
wait on you. Do not fail to be here at 8 o'clock sharp to get your choice of the most phenomenal Friday Bargains ever offered.
