Chicago. Nov. It. The wheat market
opened about o higher today. In re
sponse to a legitimate demand from
abroad.
Liverpool wanted the wheat and bid
a fractional advance at the opening, but
enlarged tha prloe aa the session pro
gressed. Tha closing there showed gatna
of 1 to ld above yesterday, tna
closing being unusually strong.
In thla market the demand became
greater during the aeaalon, and the close
waa 1 to 2o above yesterday. Tha
May waa strongest today with tha
greatest price at tha cloae.
The coarae grain list while firm did
not follow the lead of wheat, because
there waa not the ahort covering In the
former like In the latter. The pro
vision list waa firm and steady, with
substantial gain In pork, ribs and lard.
ine Kecora-uuxaju tooay quotes a
cloae observer as saying: "I am becom
ing Impressed with the Idea that there
will be more than the usual amount
of speculative Intereat In grain thla
coming whiter. The wheat situation la
clearly a two aided one. and affords
abundant opportunity for speculation.
Tha recent decline has put the market
In a more healthy condition."
