Front Ktrcot market: Blimp advance In cheese. Hotter market holding well. Kgg hold; some substitute eastern. Hide nntrket la very dull. No flour demand from orli'nt Whcut la steadv after deellno. Chlttlm bark otfered lower. 1'otHtoe and onions holding. Movement in Imps fair. Bmull tiuu. a are too high. Sharp Aflranoe In Cheese. It now develops that tho northern rltles nmi California point a liuve taken up prneth ally ull the diet-re remiitnlng unaolil lust week at Tillamook and the avulhiblo supplies there are very scant. In this market flats nrn advanced to 17c u pound with Young Americas rang ing between 1718o a pound. The cheese innrket lias been quite steady here of lute owing to the more liberal buy In it by retailers and the advance recorded In the price .todny does not therefore come as a surprise. Kecently there were sharp advances In the price of cheese In other markets, but the large supplies at Tillamook kept this maiket rather slow with the trade buy ing from hand to mouth until It was shown that an advuntc In prices here wan k certainty. The t rcamery butter situation Is not at all mixed here. While receipts are quite liberal ior mis period 01 urn yeur demand Ih sufficiently heavy to clean up arrivals at the prices llnteJ. It, Is stated that outside murkets are a frac tion under the price ruling here, but this is not at nil unusual and the trade does not expect any decline In values Junt now; although anything may hap pen at any time. Eastern Ergs Art Substituted. The old substitution dodge In the egg market Ih said to be very popular with Borne firms along the street at this time. Kor strictly freh ranch eggs the trade experiences no difficulty In mov ing arrivals nt 34WS5C a doien, al though there are some dealers who ore talking of selling local eggs at 32fte. It is noted, however, that these dealers are generally the receivers of rarlota oT riisteiit eggs und very little local stock. In fart. It Is staled that some of Ih' iti are selling more eggs us strict ly Iresh local stock than are being re ceived by the entire trade In n day This mans Ji'it one thing the substitution ot eastern stick for fresh Oregon stock, a thing that Is a strict violation of th" pure food law. The attention of the government forces has been called again to the matter. Poultry Market Is (Food. With the better demand a higher rai.e of values Is shown In tho poultry Jiiarkct rinppllra nt this time are iulte fair but demand Is Increasing with th cooler weather. At this time the trade is experiencing no difficulty In obtain Ing 12 Vic for mixed lots and 13BU'4 fur best hens. 1 he latter continue best request even at the higher price The turleey market whl only take few birds at this time, but the demand Is Increasing and the range of values Is being maintained. Kancy dressed veul and hogs are both In good request. Large sizes of either would cause lower prices. Brief Hotel of the Trade. Small horns are snld to be accumu Intitig in puckers' warehouses and drop in price is expected. Movement of hops during the past 2 hours was quite liberal; growers being anxious to fell at 10c or less. ( ar michael continues to be the best buyer for Kngllsh account, although It Is utated thHl Klnber. Wolf Netter Co Is covering. The latter, however. Is only u rumor. Potato trade remains very Qrm at 90c as top for best stock at country shipping points. Onions are In very good demand but growers ure content to hold for a while. C'hltllm bark is bdng offered lower by some weak holders because of the Inactivity nt the demand. Hide mnrket is slower than ever, ow lng to the very tight money market In the east. Hides are always first af looted by monoy conditions. Demand for celery Is growing apace. gome from Hood River is being eagerly ought. Apple market Is showing a good movement at former range of values. Front street prices: O-raln, Flour and read. GRAIN BAU8 Calcutta, S3, large lots: small lots, a He.
