WEATHER RETORT
The pressure baa risen over this fore
cast district during the last 12 hours
and this morn trig A.. ridge of high pres
sure extend.' I lira, the North Pacific
coast southeast-ward to Colorado, form
ing an extension 'ef the Immense high
area which now eovers the entire east
ern half of the country. This "high."
which on Saturday. waa apparently on
the verge of dissolution, has again as
sumed an energetic, character and thla
morning clear skies generally prevailed
from the Cascades to the Atlantic ocean,
with temperatures decidedly below nor
mal from the upper Mississippi valley
eastward. A depression overlies cen
tral Canada, but it lacks energv. some
light cloudiness over that territory be
ing the only effect of Its presence. The
depression over the southwest remains
tatlonary. It has now apparently lost
all Its former energy, and clear skies
prevail over that portion of the country
thla morning except along the. Califor
nia coast. Light rain fell over west
ern Nevada, the Texas panhandle, west
ern Kansas and from West Virginia
northeastward to the New England
coaj.t Dense fogs prevailed this morn
