Among the lines wc handle is the Franklin, which 1 so well known, es pecially on the Pacific coast. This was on August 21st and 22nd. "The Thomas linn for next year com prises five different models, from the six-cylinder seven-passenger Thomas Flyer down to the 20-horsepowrr town car and runabout. The stock Thomas Flyer for 1KU8 has a guaranteed speed of 64 mllea per hour. The 6-cyIlnder Thomas has guaranteed speed of 75 miles an hour. However, a number of Improve menti have been added which makes the car more graceful, more luxurious, and minor details in the engine have been improved upon, which gives more BDced and hotter hlll-cilniDing power. "In the Buick line of automobiles for 1908 we believe we have one of the crreatest lines in America. In addition to the well known 22-horepower liuick listing at 31,260, the Buick people have brought out a runaDout wnicn is a four-cylinder, 24-horsrpower shaft driven car listing at I860. The factory is building 10.000 of these runabouts. This car. the Buick people claim, is the ercateat car In the world for the money and for speed, hlll-cliinblng durability and finish cannot be equalled anvwhere for the price. They also have a 24-horsepower four-cylinder Buick touring car, which Is a wonderful car tor power and hill-climbing. The Buick people have brought out a 40 horsepower four-cylinder shaft-driven touring car which has a great amount of room and la very luxurious In every detail. "We are also going to handle the Loxier car, which on June 6th started in the 208-mile endurance run of the New York Motor club from New York to Albany and through mud and a steady downpour of rain and over roads which were In frightful condi tion finished first and won the trophy." Xacy Bunabonts. Mitchell, Lewis gtaver company will soon have 1908 models of Mitchell auto mobiles at their salesrooms. First and Taylor streets-. The line for next sea son consists of runabout, racy run about, five-passenger touring car, de livery wasron and delivery truck. Of these the racy runabout and commercial vehicles will probably attract the most attention as they are departures from their regular line of this year. The racy runabout is very similar to model E runabout with the exception of the body, which Is of the low racing type, now so popular in the east; with a chauffeur or single third seat In the rear. Carry 3,000 Founds. The delivery wagon and truck are especially designed for heavy work, weigh about 2,000 pounds each, and are supposed to carry about 3,000 pounds. One of these cars Is now making an exhibition run from Chicago to New York lnaieri with 3.000 Dounds or mer chandise and is averaging about 12 miles per hour including stops. A new feature of Its construction is the spiral gear drive Instead of the usual chain or shaft drive. The Mitchell is now practically stand ardized and the slight alterations which have been made on these models are mainlv refinement of detail, the most noticeable being the shape of the dash, hood and guards, which tend to give the car a more rakish appearance. Save string of Stores. Fred A. Bennett, northwestern dis tributor for Peo, Premier, and Ford automobiles, has Just returned from a trip through Washington. He reports a good season's business at his Spo kane store. He is opening a branch at Seattle; this will give him the best distributing organization of any auto mobile house in the northwest, having stores at Portland, Spokane and Seattle. Mr. Bennett is enthusiastic over the new 1908 Premier car. which has Jit' arrived and expects a largo sale of this car which has done good work In the eaHt the past season: among other featB making a record of 4,906 miles without stopping the engine. He thinks next year will be better than 1907 for the automobile trade in the northwest, as the people are be ginning to realize the value of the auto mobile for business purposes. One real estate man states his car has enabled him to do enough business this season to pay for It three times over.
