Washington, D. C, Sept. 2. All ar rangements have practically been com pleted for the coming trip of President Roosevelt In the west and south. Ac cording to the present schedule the president will leave next Sunday for Canton, Ohio, which city will be reached about noon Monday. In the afternoon of that day he will participate In the dedication of the magnificent monument to the late President McKlnley, mak ing the principal address of that occa sion. The same evening he will leave Canton for Keokuk, Iowa, which city will be the starting point of his 700 mile Journey down the Mississippi river. The members of the Inland Waterway commission which the president appoint ed a few months ago, win meet him at Keokuk and accompany him on th river trip. The commission Is scheduled calve and salute the president upon his arrival, and governors of a acora of states will be In attendance. Another great demonstration will greet the president at Memphis, where the deep waterways convention will be in session. Several thousand people thronged the fair grounds all day. At 10 o'clock occurred the stock parade, wtiich waa followed with a con cert by the Yamhill County band. Members of the Inland waterways commission will leave this city tomorrow morning on their trip down the Father of Waters, on which they will be Joined at Keokuk next Tuesday by President Roosevelt. The boat Colonel A. MacKensle, will be used for the trip. Brief stops will be made by the commission at Prea cott, Red Wing. Wabash and Winona, Minnesota; LaCrosse, McGregor and Cassvllle, Wisconsin; Dubque and Bur lington, Iowa; Rock Island, Illinois. The itinerary provides for th arrival of the boat at Keokuk on the evening of next Monday, and at noon on Tues day the partv will proceed down tho Mississippi with President Roosevelt.
