Manufacturers of the various grades of sugar are not a tinlt Beet manu facturers are gradually breaking away from the grasp of the cant refiners, and this may later result In some unpleas ant happenings to the sugar trade ana ' price. The beet men are mostly putting their Interests Into one strong firm, so that they will be able to better battle with the rane people when occasion should require. It has Just been learned that Parrot A Co.. of which Mr. Coch ran, formerly with the Johnson-LJeber company of this city. Is a member, has eoured the sccounts of most of the beet people, and the remainder are said to be ready to turn over their business when ever It Is acceptable to the brokerage people. Among the beet sugar people to turn their business over to Parrot 4k Company are the Pacific ' Sugar com rany of Vlsalla. California, the Call xornla Alameda Sugar company and me union tsugur company. Interests rormerl? la Conflict. This actio puta the various Interests under dirierent directions. The west ern Buaar Reflnlna: company Is directed In the northwest by the Kelly-Clarke company, while the California tk Ha waiian Sugar company la controlled In this territory by the Johnson-Lleber company. Both of these latter sugar companies are makers exclusively of cane sugar, and their Interests are so far apart that the companies deem It but proper that the concern that handles the product of one should not conflict by nandllng the product of another. Mr. Cochran, who la vice-president and genera manarger of the Parrot co pany, was In the city yesterday en route to the sound country, where his firm has large interests. Srr Market Hold at 30 Cents. Cr ramery butter market Is showlns a steadier tone today along; Front street wlth'stocks fairly well cleaned up. There Is, however, no northern outlet, and if supplies increase ns the trade expected them to, the market will likely weaken again, l Itv creameries report demand about equalling suppllea at current fig ures. Cheese market shows a fractional In crease In buying operations, but the market Is still dull. Tha recent ad vances In the outside markets gives the trade hope that local prices will sojii he reached; thus creating an outside call. Brief Notes of the Trade. Poultry market .Is very firm with email supplies. Demand for dressed meats remains . quite-liberal srithnugli there Is too much larg-e veal coming, prices remain good, however. Celery In In much better demand with fancy quality sometimes bringing above For funcy Elberta peaches the mar ket Is rahglng around $1.25 today with some latu Crawford also selling at that price. Market for ordinary stock Is good on account of the small ar rivals. Improvement In grape demand Is due to the Rmallcr arrivals. Sweet potatoes are holding well around 2 cents a pound for good stock. A shipment of Hawaiian rjlneannles of good quality found an eager demand at 15.60 fi.00 a dozen. Better Buying of Potatoes. A better buying demand Is shown In the potato market. Sales to Arl sona and Texas points by the local tfade have Increased materially during the past 48 hours. In the country the trade Is paying as high as 1 per hun dred weight for the best shipping stock but the buying Is not on a very ex tensive scale because farmers are too busy with their farm work to bother with potatoes at thla time. Fornlons shippers are paying tl.BO per hundred pounds at country shipping points in cariota. in a small way the local iracie is paying as niarn as 11.75 In this Pity. Qen'l P, roBTXJuro, obboov. street, Portland, Agent n XT FSB n OBTiT Don't Treat Cases I Can't Cure I treat for real and lasting cures. Every rem edy I employ has its part in bringing positive and perrruent results. Under my treatment the patient who notes improvement in his con dition can feel assured that real benefit and not a temporary drug effect has been ob tained, and can continue with confidence that a thorough cure is being accomplished. My success as a specialist is due to the fact that I accept no incurable disease and always treat with a cure in view, never resorting to the use of a remedy that brings out temporary encouragement to the patient. $10 la Amy VnoompUoaied Oaae. Pay After Being Cured DR. TAYLOR The Leading Specialist I use neither knife, ligature nor . caustic In m y treatment for Varicocele. I positively cure this disorder by an absolutely painless method snd without de- talnlng the gatlent from uslness. M r treatment for Specific Blood Poison forces the very last taint o f virus from the system, and all this is accom plished without the use of dan gerous miner als. I afford you a complete and permanent cure. My colored chart affords a n Interesting study In men's diseases. Will be sent free upon application. "WEAKNESS" I have conclusively demonstrated the fact that derangement of the mascu line functions is a curable aliment That there has been considerable di versity of opinion upon this point among the profession la but an evi dence that functional weakness has not been thoroughly understood and has been unscientifically treated. Though commonly regarded as a nervous disorder It has never yield ed when treated upon . thle theory. I have ascertained by the closest observation In thousands of cases that only In rare Instances Is the general constitution or nervous sys tem Involved to any noticeable de gree whatever, and that "weakness" In all its phases Is merely a symp tom of nervous disorder. In by far the greater number of cases the functional derangement Is due to a single caae, a chronically inflamed condition of the prostate gland, brought on by early dissipation or lingering as a result of aome Im properly treated contracted disorder. Such cases may show temporary Im provement under stimulating pro cesses of treatment, but ultimate re lapse Is certain to follow all such methods. The only radical cure la the absolute removal of the ab normal condition responsible for the functional disorder, and this I posi tively accomplish through carefully directed local measures. My treat ment Is entirely distinctive and original. No other physician em ploys like methods or approaches my success In curing. The results I ob tain are thorough and lasting, and strength and vigor are restored In the full and normal degree. I cure contract ed Diseases thoroughly and In lesa time than la com monly required to even cure partially. D o not endanger your health and F tower by rejy ng upoa patent nostrums or other uncertain measures. - My method of curing Stricture Is new and en tirely original. No cutting- or dilating. The structure Is di solved and com pletely removed and all affect e d membrane thoroughly cleansed. j I m a k n o charge for con sultation, ii. amlnatlon or advice.
