had been on special duty at Yellowstone
Park during the summer passed through
ortland last night arriving over the
Northern Pacific and passing out for
San Francisco Immediately on the
Southern Pacific. The train carried

Funeral ceremonies were pronounced
over ths remains of Guy E. Moore at
the Portland crematorium yesterday

with ths cremation of his body, together
with that of his father, who died some

Charging that her husband, David
Smith, had the habit of locking her Into
her room and then going away and be
coming intoxicated. Mrs. Alblrta H.
Smith, colored, has filed a suit In
the circuit court for a divorce.
Mrs. Smith alleges that she and her
husband are vaudeville performers and
that as they traveled about the country
she was in want of food. It is charged
that she was not only denied the asso
ciation of her friends, but waa falsely
accused of infidelity.
They were married , at Sacramento,
California, In January, 1904. Mrs. Smith
wishes to resums her maiden name,

union of the Lane County Veterans'" as
sociation will be held here Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday, September 18, 19
and 20. Veterans of all wars meet st
these reunions, and usually over 200 are
In attendance. They are always big af
fairs with the old soldiers of the county.
The program is as follows:
