nf Oregon for the year 107, I believe
that the production will run close to J 80

At this time the onion fields are In

Beauty of Mexican Indiana.
From the Indianapolis Star.
The beauty of Indian women Is one
of the charms of Mexico.
In the capital, where the Indian has
degenerated by contact with the whites,
by extreme poverty and menial service,
It Is lesa to be remarked than In the
smaller towns and In the country.
But the beautiful faces one takes In
memory away from Mexico are those of
Indian women. Fine eyes are universal
and, what one hardly expects, fine feat
ures, according to Cauoaslan standards;
broad brows. sTralght noeea, well formed
mouths and chins full but not gross or
heavy. The expression Is very generally

New York, July 20 Measured by ac
tual price changes the week has not
been a particularly important on so
far as th general market Is concerned.
A half doien stocks have enjoyed a
rather notable advance and a consider
able degree of activity. In the rest of
the list the average of prices Is not
much higher than it was last Saturday
and the trading has been comparatively
dull. The week's experience, neverthe
less, haa demonstrated that while the
market la narrow and quite profession
al, It advances more easily than it de
clines and from this it is concluded
that the turn for the better which came
a month ago was something more than
of temporary significance.
The Wane of Pessimism.
It meant that In estimating the prop
er level of values themselves, Wall
street and outside communities at largd
had Indulged In an excess of pessimism.
They hud magnified the possibilities of
harm from oppressive action against
the corporations, and they had Indulged
In wild fancies of a commercial decline
which were never warranted In the
least by the existing facts of the busi
ness situation. It was inevitable that
when the forced liquidation ceased and
the accumulation of atocks by powerful
interests began to make Itself felt,
much more reasonable views should be
taken of all these matters. The rise of
the last few weeks, therefore, is much
more a natural recovery than It is a
freeh advance based on favorable de
velopments in outside conditions.
Conditions m sally Better.
Th conditions, to be sure, are better
than they were a month ago. A de
cided improvement has occurred in the
outlook lor the crops; the money mar
ket ha witnessed the increasing spec
tacle of nearly 180.000,000 gold exported
in dlsoharge of foreign obligations with
out occasioning the least disturbance;
and finally, soma reassuring things
have been said from high quarters on
the subject of trust regulation. But
in the main the market's upward move
haa signified that the situation of a
month ago was made to appear, in com
mon discussion, very much worse than
circumstances Justified. Common eene
and confldenoe have both returned and
exchange prices have made their logical
response.

Raid on Door Knocker.
From the London Dally News.
An extraordinary raid has been made
upon about 130 houses at Sands End,
Fulham. Not a knocker Is left udou the
door of any of these premises. The ten
ants wondered why the milkman and
the postman did not knock as usual and
then discovered that in the earlv hours
the knockers had been ripped off.
Thirteen streets were visited bv the
gang responsible for the outrage, and In
one road on one side every door has
lost its knocker.

A Perfect Man
The human body is most wonderfully and perfectly constructed. Each part Is built

Intended that every man should live oil his year a perfect man. Few men da Most
mACnnmen make mistakes. Som make mistakes in youth. Others mak mistakes
after they have grown to be men. Still other are merely unfortunate. Practically all
diseases and disorders are the result of mistakes or misfortune.
The problem of living a perfect mnn I simple. Undo the injury that mistakes or
misfortune have wrought. Then avoid both live aa nature built you to live.
Undoing the Injury
I do not know how many thousands of men I have treated. I have been a specialist
In men's diseases for seventeen years. During most of these years my practlc has
been the largest of its kind upon the Paolflo coast. During the several years Just past
it has been fully double that of any other specialist In the west treating men's disease.
I have met with but few Incurable case. I hsve failed to cure In still fewer case.
In recent year I have failed In none. This I because I attempt to cure only those
cases that I feel oonfldent I can oure. and a my experience has grown I have become
able to determine curable and Incurable cases with certainty. It I also because my
skill In curing has grown and my method of treatment have been perfected.

Weakness
No matter in what form those functional derange
ments commonly termed "weakness" may appear, the
causative conditions are. In fully th per cent of the
cases very similar. I have given the closest possible
study to this remarkable prevalent ailment, and find
that In practically every case of prematureness, etc.,
there exists at some vital point of the pelvic system
a state of chronic tenderness, Inflammation or conges
tion. My first step is a thorough examination to ascer
tain the exact location and nature of the disorder, after
which, by a system of carefully directed local treat
ment, I restore the affected part to Its normal con
dition, which promptly results In full and complete re
turn of power. In perhaps less than 5 per cent of the
cases do I find general Impoverishment, lack of nervous
energy or any other condition or complication requiring
constitutional treatment Therefore, I may safely as
sort that not more than one cae in fifty can be per
manently benefited by the use of tonic, stimulants,
electrical or mechanical appllanoes, and that fully
forty-nine esses In 60 will be aggravated by such
methods of treatment.
My cures are positive, oomplote, thorough and per
manent, because by my method the real and only cause
of the functional weakness 1 totally removed. The
knowledge gained by do study and observation In
thousands of cases enables me to recognise the exact
requirements and treat accordingly, and in years I
have not failed in a single Instance to accomplish the
desired results. t
Varicocele
Varicocele affects th rein of th spermatic cord.
An average of one man in four suffers from this
affliction. The muscular walls of the vein weaken
and relax, the valve cease to perform their function
and local stagnation of th blood ensues. The first
evidence of varicocele is usually a thickening, dilating,
knotting and twisting of the veins on on or both aides,
most frequently upon the left side, often accompanied
by pains In the back, legs, thigh or cheat, and a sense
of dragging In the groin. Owing to the Impaired cir
culation, a wasting away of the organ accompanied
by partial or complete loss of power, almost without
exception follows in severe cases where treatment Is
neglected, and even slightly developed eases cann

j Magnet Lifts Six Tons.
Electro-magnets are much used in
connection with cranes and other con
, -vsyors for lifting heavy pieces of iron
' iand steel. In Belgium magnets are
.'! tised to 114; tons of hot metal in foun
dries and rolling mills. The power of
th electro-magnet Is regulated by the
'Witch , controlling the current The
magnet is lowered to the object needed
with th current turned off. When the
.switch is closed the magnet, becoming
' active, holds the articles to be lifted
4 while they are raised and transported to
their destination. When they are low
ered th switch Is opened and the mag-
riot immediately releases them. As . the
i operator of th crane controls the action
.of th magnet through the switch, this
r onemaji can attend to all the details of
, transferring heavy .metal objects. No
'esalatant is needed to attach them to
the conveyor or to release them when
they reach their destination. Another
'use to which th electro-magnet is put
' Is in breaking old castings so that they,

plish this th magnet Is made to lift and
drop a steel ball weighing; from on to

varicocele . 1 a .diseased condition of the scrotal veins. It roar be
caused by blows, . kicks, falls, heavy lifting, mumps, early indiscretion or
may be a symptom only of some special weakness.
The proper treatment consists of looal application for the purpos oi
dispelling the stagnant blood and contracting the swollen veins, as well
as internal medication to strengthen the nerves which govern th blood
supply to these veins.
Though causing you no trouble at the present time, your varloooel
will, if permitted to go without the proper treatment, impair and destroy
the elements of vitality.
We dally demonstrate that Varicocele can be positively and speedily
onred without cutting, burning or any other form of operation.
