Saratoga, N. Y., July 10. Competitive
drills were the feature of this, tha third
day of the triennial conclave of Knights
Templars. With waving plumes and
clanking swords the bands of gallant
knights met in the field of honor and
drilled before youth and beauty and
brave swords at the celebrated Saratoga
race track. Though tired after the long
farad e of yeaterday, the Kaights buckled
o their task with vim and spirit sus
taining the reputation they hold for per
fect military maneuvers in the field
The pretty evolutions of the aeveral
commanderles won salvos of applause
from the great field of spectatora. All
the Masonic emblema were formed by
the Knlahta on the field, and cheer
after cheer rang out aa the gallant
bands evolved crones, trlanglea and
echelons in rapid succession. In Con
vention hall tonight in the preaenoe of
host or pretty women and Knights in
uniform; the winning commanderles will
be presented with four handaome em
blems In token of their skill.

months and the growth of business and
cargoes in that section is shown by the
number of boats operating In connection
with new vessels which have been
prensed Into service.
The steamer Norma, owped by Jacob
Kamm of Portland. which has been
operating between C'elllo and Alnsworth
is now running to Rlparia to accommo
date traffic. It is being used as a con
struction boat by the Portland A Seattle
Railway company. The ateamer Yakima,
owned by a railroad construction com
pany. Is operating between Alnsworth
and Rlparia snd the steamer Rough,
which Is being built by Dan Meld a at
Alnsworth. will operate between Lewis-
ton and Asotin.
The Matta C. Hoover is running be-1
tween Kennewlck and Hoover and the I
steamer Relief, the Open River Trans- ,

Aberdeen Commissioners Fix Charges

Aberdeen, July 10. The county com
missioners have turned the dock at
Westport over to the Westport Dock
company, which has leased it from the
county on a 15-y ear's lease, binding itself
to keep It in repair for that time. The
commissioners fixed a schedule of
charges for dockage for the year to
come.

the International Zionist congress to be
held here next month Is expected to be

tory of this organisation, which has for
its chief aim the creation of a legally
secured home for Jewish people In Pal
