iThe reunlon of yesterday was one of
trie most largely auenaea ana mini
succeRsful in the history of - the asso
ciation. Last year 1,220 pioneers at
tended the annual meeting while this
year a much - larger throng gathered
about tho banquet board in the after
noon for the annual banquet. )i
It was a notable Catherine that as
sembled in the armory yesterday after
noon. Dunns; the morning tne city nan
had been thronged with members of the
anxoclatlon coming to register and en
roll themselves as attendants ; at the
1907 reunion. In the afternoon long
before 1 o'clock tne agea visitors negan
to rather at the armory and by 2 o'clock
more than 2,000 had crowded into the
upper nan, overriowea into tne Bal
cony Of the main drill room and down
tne steps into tne lower corriaor.
The heat In the big building was In
tense but the audience was a hardy one
and sat through the program seemingly
without inconvenience. The welcoming
address of Mayor Lane and the re
mainder of the program was shortened
somewhat on account of the dose audi
ence .room and after adjournment the
pioneers gathered in tne lower corridors,
in tne upper rooms ana in tne oaicony,
where a , reunion was. held until 4:30
When the concourse was marshalled into
lines of twos and marched Into the ban
quet hall. ; , '
. Tne main ami room or, tne armory
bad been converted ' into a bower of
flags and flowers for the banquet. The
'entire floor soace had been covered
,wlth table and winder the direction' of
Mrs. C. M. Cartwrlght and an army of
assistants the feast was served without

' - At the conclusion of the banquet the
pioneers dispersed until 7:30, when the
annual business meeting was hejd, at
which the officers of -the association
were elected for the coming year.- The
.evening session was enlivened- with a
ersed with hort campfire talks by
the old pioneers. Joaouln Miller, the
poet, was present at tne session ana
made, a short address and sang a song
in the old Hudson Bay dialect, which
was . enthusiastically received by the
audience, .,,:,..;.
' - A resolution was ' adopted thanking
those who had the arrangement-of the
entertainment in charge for their ef
forts and ' praising their success. It
'was also urged that all the old pioneers
,who were not regular attendants at the
reunion make it a point in tne ruture
to be present and assist in the celebra
tions." The reunion closed with the
sinking of "Auld Lang Syne" - by the
