- HEAVY FRUIT CROP
Warm Period Has Allowed the
Blooms to Fill Grain In1
Need of Moisture.
Th dry weather of tb past few
weeks has been very favorable for th
fruit prospects," said H. M. William
son, secretary of th state board of
horticulture, yesterday. "The . fruit
does not need rain and has ben greatly
benefited during th last month because
of the absence of It, for during the
blooming period ' heavy . cold rain is
likely to do a great deal of damage."
At th sam Urn extended rains at
th present time could not do any dam
age, according to th fruitgrowers, and
while not necessary would probably be
better for th crop in th long run. Th
That all differences existing between
th molders and their employes will be
settled satisfactorily ts considered prob

Portland branch of th National Indus

between employ and employer. i
What makes th letter from th
Manufacturers' association significant Is
the fact that several members of th
board of directors sr employers of
members of th molders union.. The
letter from the union was signed by
President H. W. Drew and members of
th executive committee. It was ad

the purpose of effecting a friendly set
