In many Jewish homes It Is placed 'on the table only as a symbol, but among tha orthodox Jaws tha custom to use noth ing but unleavened bread la strictly adhered to. Temple Beth Israel will hold services tonight at o'clock and tomorrow morn ing at which Rabbi Wise wilt deliver a sermon. ... After lingering In an unconscious con dition for over five days, J. D. Max well, who" was fatally wounded by his son-in-law, W. H. Henderson. In the William Tell honse at Oregon City last Saturday morning, ' died at tha Good aw-- 1 Samaritan' hospital at o'clock' last night. Henderson, before shooting Max well, killed his wife, and then sent a bullet crashing Into hie own head. The bullet which resulted In Maxwell's death entered tha top of tha head and ranging downward emerged back of tha right ear. v The wounded man waa re moved to the Good Samaritan hospital last Sunday, but the surgeons held out no hope of recovery. .. Coroner Flnley baa taken charge of the remains. ., Protection for electrical ' workers of the city Is sought in a blU for an ordl nance now being circulated by members of the electrical . workera' union for Initiative action at the next election. The measure la practically the same as the draft presented to the city council some time ago and pigeonholed by that body.
