Mrs. Holman in her statement alleges
that Stanford White never sought an op
portunity to harm Evelyn Nesblt, and
Mrs. Holman will deny- that site was
ever persuaded to go to Pittsburg and
leavs her daughter In charge of White,
as Evelyn Nesblt Thaw testified. ' Mrs.
Holman has denied to the district attor
ney and will testify to It, If called as a
witness, that she ever connived in any
way to imperil her daughter with Stan
ford White, , and ' will sweat that the
first she ever heard of the matter was
when she read the testimony given by
her daughter. ,
Mrs. Holman has given to District At
torney Jerome all -of the letters which
Stanford White sent to her from the
time he first became acquainted prith
Evelyn Nesblt until the letter's mar
riage, and also tho letters which Eve
lyn Nesblt wrote to her mother concerning-
Tbaw. - and - his alleged cruel
treatment . Jerome also has the letters
written by Evelyn - Nesblt about the
relations with Stanford White.
To Attack Xer Saagbtsr. ' -The
district attorney Aas been in
formed by. Mrs. Holman that she' Is
ready to aid him in any way that may
be suggested to make clear the real re
lations between Stanford White and
Evelyn Nesblt as sho knows them and
to attack the credibility of ber daughter.
- More Important, perhaps, than any of
the documents which Mrs. Holman has
given to the district attorney la another j
bundle of letters which were given to
Mr. Jerome yeoterday. They are- the
letters which were written by Evelyn
Nesblt to Stanford White, and most of !
these are written after the time fixed
by Mrs. Thaw In hsr testimony for the
happening in the White studio.
Whits requested his secretary, CV.
Hartnett, to destroy all personal corre
spondence In case of his sudden death.
Mr. Hartnett carried out these orders
after Mr. White was shot, but the bundle
or lexers vnnra oy tiveiyn nesoic to
White were overlooked and will be used
by the district attorney in hla croaa-ex-
aml nation of Mrs. Thaw to show ths dif
ference between tbe written expression
of her regard for White and the story
she told as a witness.
Maxle Follette. former associate with
Evelyn Nesblt in wie chorus, is arrayed
againat the defense, and In a sworn
statement given - to Assistant District
Attorney Garvan recites a number of in
cidents within her alleged personal
knowledge showing the kindness Bf
Stanford White in his treatment of Eve'
lyn Nesblt and the cruel treatment of
Harry Thaw. . '
Miss Follotte allege that on one oc
casion, at a private dinner in an upper .
Broadway restaurant. Evelyn . Nesblt
was elttlng atra table talking with
friends and Thaw seised her by the hair
and dragged her1 out of the room.
Masle Follette gave to Mr. Garvin a
large amount of information which will
be used by Mn Jerome in his cross-ex-'

that Masle Follette la ready to testify
that Evelyn Nesblt told her repeatedly
that Stanford White never wronged her
