Paid City by Mount Hood Railway

The. council will ba given : another
chance to obey the charter 'ss: to valua
tions of franchises. Several times this
year It has Ignored the charter provis
ion which gives the executive board the
authority to fix th compensation to the
city for valuable privileges, and, aa In
the case of' the -heating franchise, has
set a much lower valuation upon them.
This time the franchise of th Mount
Hood Railway company will be consid
ered by the council. The exeoutlve
board yesterday afternoon set a valua
tion and the ordinance granting th
franchise will go back to th council at
the next meeting.
