Mr. Ross has great confidence In the
future of Oregon, and especially of
Portland. ' He was a rssldent ef Las
Vegas, Nsw Mexico, for ten years,
where he had an opportunity to watch
from - an uninterested proximity the 1
growth or Los Angeles, Seattle and
other growing communities, and after
faithfully studying the conditions in
several . such places cams to the con
clusion that the advantsges that Port
land possesses In the-Willamette valley
and the Willamette river are unsur
paased on the cost He says that realty
values tn Portland are ridiculously low
because Portland people - are slow - In
waking up to their own advantages,
and says "at present it Is only a mat
ter of getting in on the ground floor."
Mr. Ross has Invested several hun
dreds of thousands of dollars in Port
land In ths last it months in suburban
property, as, he says, within an Incred
ibly short time the east slds will b
one solid city from Bt. Johns to Ore

the car and ride from Oregon City to
St Johns, and you will see them build
