the building, in making an inspection of
the-work' on -th foundation.; discovered
that th mortar used In tha brick con
struction was practically' worthless.- He
called- in Mr.- Wittenberg, who. as chair
man., of th building commute, has su
pervision , of all construction work on
school buildings, and a thorough exam
ination was mad of th work with the
result that .the contractor, J. E. Bennett,
was ordered to tear out all work don
on th foundation. Mr. Wittenberg. In
discussing th matter last night, said: ,
. "Yes, I made ah Inspection together
with Mr. Jones, our architect, of th
work den on th addition to th Sunny
side school and found it s unsatisfac
tory that w ordered It torn out.
"All th work that ha been dona on
this addition has been crude and slov-
lenlr. W have had constant trouble.
with th contractor In our effort to get
him to live up to the terms of his con
tract. : Sine this trouble has arisen 1
