on Friday night took antiseptlo tablets

Th suicide of Mrs. C b. sparks at
Tremont at 4 o'clock yesterday morning
was th .result of the peculiar cunning of
the insane. For two months she bad a
premonition that unless the carbolic add
which waa kept In a bottle In the house

struction of herself, and warned her hus
band to keep It from her reach. He took
It to the basement ana piacea it oa a
rafter among numerous , other bottles.
Thinking ba had placed It where she

Th woman has been suffering from
Illness of late, and waa afflicted with
melancholia to such an extent that she
desired to take ber own life.. ' Friday
night husband and wife 'retired at the
usual hour. - At 4 o'clock yesterday
morning sh 'awoke and told her hus
band she was going to get soma tablets
he had purchased for her, ; Later he was
startled, on awakening from slumber, to
find she had not returned to bed. . He
arose quickly and made a search of the
premises. H found ber. sitting, in an
outhouse, her head resting in her nana.
Half Way- between the house and where
she was sitting the cup from which she
had drunk the carbolic acid waa found.
It contained but a few drops. She had
swallowed . the rest A,'-V-('
She waa suffering great agony, wnea
found, and died within ' a abort time
after being removed to the house. It
developed after an investigation that she
bad sought-out the place in the base
ment where ber husband bid tne carbolic
acid, although knowing that to find It
meant to drink it and die. The husband
thought he had hidden it ao she would
never find it but was mutainn. -
The body was brought to Coroner Fin-
ley's morgue yesterday afternoon. Fu
