At DatxoM.
Eaat side ' residents will meet in
mass meeting Monday evening In the
Juatlc court at Grand avenue and Eaat
Morrison street and endeavor to formu
late a plan of campaign concerning the
Morrison bridge situation. The resi
dents, who have been accustomed to
using the bridge daily, object to paying
I cents to crosa 1L now that streetcars
alone" ha re the right of way, and alnce
th l-oent far proposition was turned
down by the City A Suburban company
no relief has apparently been offered for
their trouble. The city council ba
been asked to attend th meeting and
learn the sentiment of th east side on
the closed bridge situation.
Among other grievances that will be I
aired la that of 160 girls who are em
ployed In Neustadter's factory and have
been accustomed to uae th bridge twice
each working day. These girls are one
in saying that they cannot afford 10
cents a aay out or tneir scant wages.
Th canneries will soon open and eaat
side workers who are employed in theae I
plants say that.a cry of woe will go up
from hundreda of laboring men that will
make th howl or mythical Roma seem
a still, . small voice.
