OF TWO WOMEN
- Two ' women; one married and tha
other single, rushed up to Patrolman
Kay on the atreet at noon today and
told htm one of the moat sensational
stories ever reported to the Portland
police. They aald that while they were
walking on Sixth atreet laat night two
men forcibly took " them to a room
In a lodging houae on that atreet locked
them In the room and held them pris
oners all night and until noon today
Patrolman Kay brought the' women
to the police station, where they related
their experience to Chief Hunt De
tective Hawley,. who waa present at th
station, waa dispatched at once to search
for tha men who are aald by tha women
to have perpetrated tha outrage. At a
of
latebour no trace of them had beeaj
found.
Pending a thorough Investigation
tha reported outrage. Chief Hunt
quests that the names of tha women be
withheld. He will have everything done
to arrest the raacala Implicated. Ha
feara they may flee the city befor
they can be found by th offloer. The
women were able ' to give complete de
scriptions . of the two men and tha of

The two. women told the chief that
