routine character. The annual report
presented to the stockholders for ap

dented prosperity for the company. Dur
ing the 12 months more than $15,000,000

Denver, Colo., Oct 21. The principal
business before today's special meeting
of the stockholders of the Denver & Rio
Grande Railroad company is to author
ize the purchase of the Crystal River
railroad. For the purpose of making the
purchase and for future capital require
ments the first preferred capital stock
is to be increased by $5,600,000. This
will raise the total first preferred capi
tal stock of the Rio Grande to $50,000,
000. The regular annual meeting of the
road will be held here tomorrow.

83 years old today, went through her
role In "Mice and Men" at the matinee
performance at the Park theatre this

congratulation,' and when the favorite
actress stepped upon the stage the audi
ence gave her a sincere and hearty re
ception, such as few artists can boast of.
