Mount Hoyal avenue by the Daughters
of the Confederacy was unveiled today

presence of a large throng of spectators.
Captain O. W. Booth of the Maryland
Soeluty of the Army and Navy of the
Confederate Status, made the presenta
tion speech, and the oration of the day
was delivered by Captain McHenrv How
ard.
The monument is the work of Sculptor
F. W. Kuckstuhl. The base la of hlahlr-
pollsbed Missouri granite. The monu
ment itself Is of bronse and consist of
the figure of a young soldier, wounded
and dying, but supported in the. arms of
tame, on the front face of the base Is
the inscription: 'To the soldiers and
sailors of Maryland In the service of the
Confederate States of America, 1861-
1S65."
