REPAIRS TO BOAT Steamer Cascades Polled on the - Ways at Sapple's Yard, The steamer Cascades was pulled up en 'the ways at Bupple'a shipyard yes terday and will undergo extensive re pairs to her bull and machinery. The Cascades is owned by a local lumber company and was purchased from the government after being condemned. The boat was built in 1881 for use ia con structing the Cascade locks. After the completion of the locks she was used In towing barges loaded with rock for the Jetty at the mouth of the river. The trial trip of the government tender. Major Guy Howard, will be held the early part of next week. The Howard is a handsome little craft, and will be tiled for the transporting of supplies between the various forts on the lower river.
