Warring Factions of Second Bap
tist Charch Still Fight. ,
According to prominent members of the
gfecond Baptist Church, the peace pro
posal between the two warring factions
of that Institution have, as yet not been
accepted, a,nd evra not likely to be for
soma time. -
' W. B. Hall, a loader of one of tha fac
tions, says that, hf baa not up to this
time heard of any meeting to be called
to settle the diftertfncoa between the
member. "If such a move is on foot,",
said Mr. Hall, "then I know nothing
about it., This talk about a mutual coun.
ell la all bosh, aa far as 1 1mve heard.
"I see by an article In the morning pa
per that such a move had been made,'
but aa far aa there being any truth in
the article, I am not informed. Even if,
there was. the man that wrote that ar
ticle evidently knew nothing about the
affairs of the Baptist Church. There la
no higher authority in Baptist Church
affairs than the church Itself, and it de
pends altogether on the majority of the
members whether tb,e mutual council's
report Is adopted or not. The councl
can meet as much as It wanta to, and
make aa many reports aa It pleases, but
that docs not mean that anything fur
ther will be done In the matter."
