Washington 'I - Smallpox Contracted In the Old Globe Hotel. Isaac Jenkins, an aged laboring man. appeared t the polios- station this morn ing aud informed : the, police tliat he thought he had the smallpox. A glance was sufficient and, he was hurriedly hus tled, out and required to stand on the corner until Dr. Zan arrived. . The physician pronounced it a mild case and questioned the man as to where he contracted the disease. Jenkins replied that he lived at the old Globe Hotel, la the North End, and that a laborer brought' It In from the country. He was sent to the pesthouse, Or. Zan Immediately placed the Globe under strict temporary quarantine end vaccinated all the Inmates.
