The United States Senate has passed the joint resolution for the consideration by the States of a constitutional amendment extend ing the President's term from March 4 to April 30 and extend ing the congressional term to the same extent. We are pleased, as every friend of education must be, to see the great success attending the State Normal School at Monmouth. Hundreds of teachers who have received training for a longer or shorter time have already gone out to improve the schools of the State, and we need hundreds more of the same kind. The court holds 1 that tho patents for tho border I tracts did not cany the bed of the j lake, but that the same remains ! the property of the State, and that there has been nothing done by the State to estop it from as serting titlo to the lands in question.
