George, Congressman, Grant county 75; Wasco county 6'; total majorities 81. Supreme Jadges, Kelly, Prim and Burnett, have about 220, average majority in the district. Tom. Merry has 643 majority in the district. McArthur, Judge, has 845 major ity. I In the State the whole Republican ticket is 'elected by about 1,500 ma jority. Mr. Hugh McQuaid, of Elk Creek, sent us in some rock that was taken from his ledge, and after receiving the opinion of old miners we are able to verify the word that Hugh Bent, that it is rich and valuable rock, and if his mine turns out much like the samples sent he lias a "good thing." General News. Chicago, June 17. Mayor llnrri son's reciint visit to Horatio Seymour was apparently m-;de in his own inter est as vice preritiential candidate, am apparently resulted in Seymour :ivin him most positive assurance that h. was no candidate and would, under no circumsbnees accept a nouiinatinn.
