There arc 21 di tiiet in Grant coun ty and 1 partly iu (Jrant and partly in AVa?co counties. Ail have reported. Tho fund now apportioned, contains the State fund allotted to this county last year, but too late for apportion ment with the count)' fund, and not enough for a separate rpi.ortiontiienl: amounting to but five hundred dollars. The children over 4 and under 20 years of age reported in 1878 were 803; in 1870, 0:i7; in 1SS0, 10:50. In crease over previous year in 1871), 74; increase over previous year in 1880. 08. The amount allotted to each pupil in this apportionment is S2,0184, near jy, or within a small fraction of 2, 02. Warrants on the treasury for amounts due districts, aie drawn in all cases where t became of the clerk of the dis trict, is known. Districts numbered 8, 0, 13, 17, 18, 22 and 27 have failed to report names of officers elected at List annual school meeting, the 1st Monday in March, and it is therefore impossible to draw warrants in favor of fh. se di.-tricts till they do report. It is necessary that I should know to whom to make them payable. Last year in Hmilar cases warrants were drawn payable to the former clerk; but many were returned to this office and new ones had to be drawn when the nau.e of the new clerk was ascer tained. It is lo be hoped that the clerks of the districts named will im mediately send their name- ami Pot ullice addresses to this office that war rants may be drawn and t;ansiuiited to them at once, and the business of this apportionment closed.
