Closing Exercises. Too public
school of this city, under the supervis
ion of Prof. Eads and Miss Douthit,
closed on last Frit lay. We attended
the closing exercises, and must s:y
that, from all appi-arances, the child
ren have been in good hands lor the
year ju-t. ended. The pel forma rices
consisted of readings, essays, declamation-,
music aud illustrations. We
would like to mention r:,(J'1 scholar
nunuteh. hut t me and iica forbid.
We we e pleased to see the interest
the bos have taken in music. If
more fathers had been there to hear
the closing address of Prof. Ead, we
are of the opinion that in the future
but few sons and daughters would be
permitted to go abroad to school.
We are sorry that our space is so
limited this week; we may have some
thing to say on the school question
next week.
