marketing it distinctly weaker than

Egg Market Is Weakening.
With the Sound cities out of the
market for Oregon eggs, for the thus
at least, the local market shows a
weaker tone, though dealers today re
ported little or no change In quota
tions. Stocks are beginning to ac
cumulate in a small way on the street
and the outlook Is for a decline,
though perhaps a slight one, before
the end of the week.
Poultry hold up well today, receipts
being moderate and the demand good,
especially for hens and springs.
In dressed meats there was nothing
new. Pork continues to move active
ly, while the veal trade is dull at tit;
lower prices recently announced.

as ever, with the supply of actual requirements.

75 feet east of the east line of Third
street, which shall be improved by

NOTICE IS HEREBY . GIVEN
that the Common Council of the
City of Astoria, has declared its de
establish the grade on 51st street
from the south line of Birch street to
the north line of Date street, so that
the grade when so reestablished will b-j
at the following elevations above the
base of grades as established by Ordi
nance No. 71 of the City of Astoria,
to-wit:
At the south line of Birch street rft
an elevation of 30 feet above-the base
of grades; at the north and also the
south line of Cedar Street at an eleva
tion or 49 feet above the base of
grades; at the north line of Date
street at an elevation of 100 feet
above the base of grades; that be
tween the points aboye designated
the grade shall be upon an even and
gradual slope. ; . '

That the costs and expenses of con
structing said improvement shall be
defrayed by special assessment upon
the lots, lands and premises so bene

Commencing at the southwest cor
ner of lot 9 in block "A" in Shively's
Astoria; thence northerly along the
west line of Shively's Astoria to the
northeast corner of lot 1 in said block
"A"; thence easterly along the north
line of said block "A" to the west
line of 14th street; thence easterly and

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that the Common Council of the
City of Astoria has declared its de
termination and intention to improve
Bond street from the west line of
12th street to the east line of 14th
street, by removing all the old ma
terial, cutting off . existing piles and
posting up with 12-inch by 12-inch
posts resting on 4-inch by 12-inch
sills, and. 12-inch by 12-inch caps, new
stringers and decking, 'sidewalk
stringers and decking throughout, ex
cept the portion used by the Astoria
Electric Company for- street railway
purposes and for one foot outside of
either rail.
That the costs and expenses of con
structing said improvement shall be
defrayed by special assessment upon
the lots,, lands and premises so bene
fitted by the' same, which said lots,
lands and premises are included in
the special assessment district includ
ing ali lots, lands and premises so
benefitted, to-wit:
Beginning at a point on the south

Astoria 25 feet east of its southwest
