iThe Daily Market Report
C.( L , 1
PORTLAND. April 12. The n-n-
rl decline in butler price predicted
iy several of the city creamery me'i
or the first of the week did not ma
riall today, and in ome quarter
hU morning it wai intlmirted that !t
(iillit not come until the Inter part
ft the week. That the market never
iheleni wax weak and hit unsettled
jwii evident enough. Of certain hrandi
lot city make there it no surplus for
i the time, and on thee price are vcll
I maintained. Others, however, are
i quoted lower, tome at 27k, and the
j market ii ald to be pretty well load-
ed up with country and California
I butter, which In moving at 25c to
j 271c generally.
There wan but little left today of
the shipment of 300 cam of Tills
mook cheese that came In last week,
j and further arrival from that ttar-
ler are not expected until the tatter
part of (hit week. The market wa
very firm at the last quotation.
Potatoea Likely To Advance,
That potato price will be given i
vlgoroui booit In the near future I
more or Ira generally th belief of
Oregon growers, and of tome of the
peculator a well. There i little
doubt now that supplies In the South
are very nearly out of the way, and
the grower are confident that a
trong demand there for Oreijoiu will
develop hortly. j
The Oregon onion aeanon i all hut
tt an end. Only a few car of good
lock are left in the mate and the
holder of thec how no anxiety to
lell at current price. Imperial Val
ley onion are expected here before
the cud of the week and it i expected
that they will tell a little lower than
It the opening a year ago.
Protpect Good For Egga.
Though tome dealer on the street
thi morning expressed uncertainty t
to the outlook for the tgg trade for
the week, it teemed to be the general
belief that lst week' price would
hold through the week at lent. The
chance are that the Sound market
will continue to buy, for lorge and
the Alaikan trade, and a long a
there i an outlet there for the turplut
here the market will continue to buy,
for itoragc and day, trade was quiet.
In poultry there wat little doing,
with no change from the lat quota
tiona reported, and the lituation was j
about the ame in country dressed
meat.
