How to Cure a Cold
Be as careful as you may-you will oc
casionally take cold, and when you do,
get a medicine of known reliability,
one that has an established reputa
tion and that , is certain to effect i
auick cure. Such a medicine, is
Chamberlain's . Cough Remedy. It
has gained a world wide reputation
by its remarkable cures of this most
common ailment, and can always ba
depended upon. It acts on nature'
plan, relieves the lungs, aids expec
toratlon, opens the secretions and
aids nature in restoring the system
to a healthy condition. , , During the
many years in which it has been in
general use we have yet to learn of
a single case of told or attack of the
grip having resulted in pneumonia
when thia remedy was used, which
shows conclusively that it Is a cer
tain preventive 1 of ' that dangerous
disease. Chamberlain's Cough Rem
edy contains no opium or .other na
cotic and may be given as onh
dently to a baby as to an adult

CHANCE FOR SMUGGLING.
NEW" YORK,. Nov. 17.-That the
parcels post in operation between
certain foreign countries and the
United States offers an excellent
opportunity for smuggling goods
into this country with consequent
loss of customs revenue thereby is
an opinion current among the cm-
toms officials at the port , of New
York, i In order that the matter may
be thoroughly investigated, Secre
tary of the Treasury Cortelyou has
ppointed a committee which - will
confer with the superintendent it
the division of foreign mails and
the superintendent of railway mail
service. If it is found advisable con
gress will be asked to pass legisla
tion protecting the customs service
in, the matter. At the same time an
extension of the parcels post system
with other foreign countries will be
sought.
