"THE HONEYMOONERS."
Twenty corking muiscal numb'ers
in a single song show is the unap
proached record held by Geo. M.
Cohan's "The Honeymooncrs," which
comes to the Astoria Theatre next
Sunday evening direct from an all
summer run at the magnificent New
Amsterdam ' Theatre, New York,
where it broke alt record for the
season. Cohan wrote "The Honey
mooncrs" for himself and he outdid
all his preceding efforts. lie wanted
a vehicle that would be certain to re
main on Broadway all summer and
he spared no effort to make the song
show a wonderful production. He
gave it a strigging exciting plot of
love and politics and mistaken iden
tity in a Vermont village; he gave it
a acore of musical numbers; he gave
it a snappy, brilliant dialogue and he
stage it with almost reckless disre
gard of expenses. The result spelled
immediate and lasting success. The
original production comes here and
it is no exaggeration to say that in
"The Honeymooncrs" Cohan has
compressed sufficient material for
most authors to have written three
comedies from Cohan however is an
intellectual millionarie and he has
lavished the riches of his genius on
