QUEER OCCUPATIONS
New York U the, home of queer
occupations all calculated to make
money for the originator, but never
perhaps hat there been a more origi

financing impecuuioui foreign noble

ever was brought to light this week
by the institution of legal proceedings
looking1 to the recovery of the stipul

whom money had been advanced but
who after capturing a bride with mil
lions refused to repay his backer.
Recent alliances between American
millions and foreign titled poverty
have brought this matter into the
linelight to such an extent that a re

top of this bill the revelation show

Generally it has taken about $10,000

fortune which he married. At the
person who advanced the money was
extremely careful of hit risks, select

went merrily until at last an ungrate

' For one day this week New Y ork,
for the first time in the memory of
the oldest ir.habit.ant, was without a
head to its government; that is with
out a Mayor. Not only was Mayor
McClctlan out of the city but also
every other official authorized to fill
his office in case of emergency. The
law curiously enough provides for a
succession of only three officers and
with these all absent, no means, how
ever pressing the need could furnish
a successor who could legally fill the
office of Mayor. In spite of the fact
that it had no head to its government
the city survived without accident.
Probably not one hundred persons
knew of the situation until it was

three of the best physicians who did

the second bottle I was entirely
cured." Whv not let it help you?
