SEATTLE. Jan. 30.-Portus B
Weare, the former president of the
Weare Commission Company, and a
prominent member of the Chicago
Stock Exchange, today hied a peti
tion in voluntary bankruptcy giving
his debts as $1,085,647.71 and assets
"at $383,857.08. He states that the
larger portion of his indebtedness
was incurred by signing note? of the
companies of which he was an officer,
including the following: Weare Grain
Company, North America Trading &
Transportation Company; Central
-Alaska Company, Chicago Terminal
Railway Elevator Company, Wauke
sha Water Company. Much of the
assets consist of stock in companies
which are now bankrupt

ANOTHER BODY FOUND.
FLORENCE, Colo., Jan. 30.-The
fourth body, that of Joseph Minichiel
lo, was found today buried in the
Neroni truck garden in this city. The
head was crushed apparently by an
axe. Antone Neroni, alias Bavori, is
a prisoner in the county jail, at Canon
City, charged with the murder of
Joseph Minichiello, Domintck Mini
chiello, Ericola Buffetti, and Mrs.
Frank Palmetto, whose bodies were
dug up at the garden on January 20.
WOMAN'S RIGHTS.
WASHINGTON. Jan. 30.-Senator
Warren today introduced a joint reso
lution calling for an amendment to
the constitution which shall provide
that the vote of no person of the
United States shall be withheld or
abridged on account of sex.

The bar was moderate yesterday
morning, an cast wind was blowing,
eight miles, and the weather was
cloudy. During the day conditions
grew better until at 4 p. m. the wind
was blowing from the same direc
tion, at five miles an hour, the weath
er was clear, and the bar smooth.
The French bark Sullv arrived
down yesterday in tow of the Harvest
Queen.
The Breakwater arrived down at S
o'clock yesterday morning, and left
here, for Coos Bay, at 9 a. m.
The Norwegian steamer Haldis ar
rived from San Francisco at 4 o'clock
yesterday afternoon, and is lying in
the stream. She wJ leave up for
Kalama, probably today, to load lum
ber for La Boca.
The French bark Armen is down
from Portland, bavins been towed
here by the Oklahama.
Thetcam schooner F, S. Loop ar
rived down during Wednesday night,
and crossed out to sea at 8 a. m. yes
terday.
The oil steamer Amvl arrived down
at 8:30 yesterday morning, and imme
diately put to sea, crossing the bar
at 10:4a
The Gerald C. arrived in yesterday
afternoon, from Siletz, bringing a
cargo of canned salmon for Elmore & I
Company.
It is thought the repairs to lightship

The Roanoke is due to leave out
for San Francisco and San Pedro
this morning.
The funeral of the late Captain Wil
liam Larkins took nlare at Orrcon
City on Wednesday afternoon, and
was largely attended. The services:

Church, and conducted by Rev. Mr.
Blackwell of the church, assisted by
Rev. A. E. Bernays, of the Portland
Missions to Seamen, were very im
pressive. When the services, were
concluded tne casket was opened that
his friends might have a last view of
the features of the deceased. It was
noted how lifelike the corpse ap
peared, even to the familiar smile.
The cortege then moved from the
church to the cemetery followed by
the many friends who had assembled.

tative of the Masters' & Pilots' Asso
ciation, Capt. George Pease, the first
steamboat caotain of harbor No. 2.1
Captains Wm. Pratt and John Kelly,
