""We uubltri aitu are ail proud of Oregon's apples and pears. Glad you got the use of the great show windows in which to present yourselves to the admiring thousands, out you only come once a year, while we add a little to the wealth of Oregon every day of the thiw hundred and sixty-five. "Oregun fruits live million dollars yield for 1907 is great, but Oregon's dairy product.- growing from nothing ten years ago to five millions in 1902 and seventeen millions in 1907. is going to give a grand entertainment in Port land December 12 and 13. "Two floors of the big Woodmen's Hall at llth and Aider have been engaged for that purpose, one for the exhibits and th nther for the convention. The prizes offered are the greatest ever presented in the West. The program will be ex cellent. There will be a reception, with re'Tesnment and music, at the Portland Commercial Club, the evening of the 12th. "It is the farmer and the dairyman ' who should be present at this conven tion. All of the commercial bodies should have delegates present, and as the women of Oregon have made the state famous for its dairy products they will be especially welcome and some of the best papers on the program will be delivered br women. : "The exercises will open promptly at 10 o'clock Thursday morning, icem ber 12, at Woodmen's Hall. Each and every paper will be discussed so that the practical points may be brought out. 'All delegates are uiged to be present, nowever, an hour before the opening Thursday so as to register, receive badges, and get time to examine the exhibit in the large room just below the convention hall. "The oflteerg of the Oregon Dairy As sociation want you to come prepared to ask questions, to feel that you are pre sent to be benefitted, and to appreciate that the discussion of the papers after they are delivered is more valuable than the papers after they are delivered is more valuable than the papers them selves, for this character of discussion bring out all the strong points. ,. "The business men of Portland have put up money too insure the publica tion of the proceedings in the best pos sible manner, and to illustrate the same hut only facts and vital information f will be printed, and these are wanted 'tbom every district in Oregon. The rail roads have made a rate of a fare and a third from every point in the State." " The Portland Country Club & Live 'Stock Association, recognizing the im . Iportance of the development of the live stock interests of this state, have ar ranged for the greatest fair vet held west of the Missouri River, for 1908. iThere are $40,000 in prizes, equalling these offered by the Lewis & Clark Ex temporary Close-Down The Bremner lagging Company ha closed its camps for the season of wet weather and perhaps for the holidays, but will resume again early in the new year. The Sorenson togging Company is prepariug to do practically the same thing and for the same time, a number of its men from Camp No. 8 coming into the cUv vesteivlay for their money to date, and the others wit! probably follow in a few days. 1 he main trouble is that the railways of the company cannot be maintained in such desperate ly wet weatlif r as the engines and train are forcing the tracks into the vielding earth at a pace that means burial if persisted in much longer, and for this reason, as well as the approach ing holidays, the companya have decided to cease work and straighten things up for the work to come in the early days of January. Hospital Saff Changes- Sister Nicette and Sister Damian surgical nurses, have arrived from Port land and will take the places on the staff of St. Mary's hospital vacated by Sisters Leona and Anna Maria, who have gone to SU Paul's hospital in Vancouver, B. C. The sisters have made many friends and are greatly beloved by the patients who have been under their care. One of Uie most interesting state ment made recently concerning th much discussed Cooper theory, that has spread over the country during the pat year. Is made by E. 11. Lambert, a retired business man, whose home is at 113 Frond Street, Everett, Mas. Air, Lambert ha this to say lu con nection with - Cooper and hi medi cines! "Some timo ago I read an ar ticle about this man Cooper. In which he claimed that stomach trouble was directly responsible for most 111 health, lie went on to say that, although, his medicine did nothing but get the stom ach In sound condition, it would, in many cases, remove kidney and liver tjrouble and various uthen ailments, lie argued from this that the stomach ti. the main muse of sickness, and 'tuted that the success he has had with his medicines was due eutirely to this fact. 'I am now fully convinced that this theory is correct, and believe ( per haa a rwlly remarkable medicine, judging from my own experience. 'I have Wn a sick man for live years. Three year ago 1 wa tow ny a physician Unit, I luta uriuiii a ,11 ease f the kldneya, 1 have treated constantly for this tumble since, with out results. After reading the article 1 have mentioned, 1 purchased some of this man (VoperV medicine. I have been astoundd bv what It has done for me, I wm relieved to some extent within 24 lionr. , Today my liealth better than for five year ami so far a I can tell, my kidney Hroublo ha disappeared, "Atv wife, who had stomach trouble foe some time, tried the preparation alter itotimr Its action In my case and her improvement is fully a mark ed a mine. She now eats heartily three times a day without any distress whatsoever. Her nervousnes lms also left her. I certainly believe this man' sum's Is fully Justified, as he tin diuhtidlv has a wonderful medicine. We will gladly deaerlbe the remark able reeoftl made bv the Cooper me.ll clue to all win, wish to know of them. -t'hns, Hoger ai d Sun.
