Tho in terest in the Nasi trial in Sicily has be come intensified as the result of the withdrawals of Nasi's counsel and other sensational events. In some quarters here Nasi is compared to Moses, to Cap tain Dreyfus and even to Christ while Signor Saporito, - his first accuser, is called a Judas. There have been in scription on the wall in which the man on trial is described as "The Pearl sf National Democracy," and "The Father of His Country." In some of the local shops (Trapani is Nasi's home town), the adoration has reached the point of erecting images of Nasi before which lights are kept burning as is done befors the images of the Madonna and : the Saints. At processions and meetings the people sing special songs called the Nasi hymn. The authorities believe they have a sufficient force here to check any possible disorder.
