The schooner P. a Redfleld, with a cargo of lumber for Redondo, went to tea yesterday. The schooner Glendale cleared for San Frunciseo yesterday with 400,000 feet tf lumber loaded from the Tongue Point lumber milt The oil tank iteamer Drake and Asuncion arrived in from California with a cargo of fuel oil. The Alliance arrived yesterday from Coo Bay porta with freight and pas sengers. "The" tug George K. Vosburg arrived fn yesterday with a loaded barge, having a cargo of lumber from Tillamook. Capt. Ted" Cherry, assisted by a brother skipper, a first and second officer and four able seamen succeeded in haul ing the good launch "A. B." from out the river yesterday afternoon and has her stowed away in winter quarters. Notice to Mariners. Good Roads' Convention The Oregon Good Roads Association will hold its sixth annual convention at the rooms of the Portland Commercial Club, in Portland, upon the 14th and 15th of this month. President Welch of the Chamber of Commerce is in receipt of a letter from the secretary of the as sociation, urging assistance, and inviting the Chamber to appoint five delegates to co-operate with the association for the betterment of its public highways. Prominent speakers from several states win address the convention, and on A Unique Inquiry The Columbia Trust Co. has been nding out literature descriptive of Clatsop county's resources, and their in coniimr mail is increasing daily. One of the most unique replies they have re celved is the following, ami the company will appreciate any answer that can be framed by an Astoria booster. The In quiry which is from Darien, X. Y reads as follows: "Columbia Trust Co., Dear Sirs: Yours received. In regard to the country, please answer the following: How many dear days and cloudy and rainy days in a year or about how many in summer Is it damp or culd and in winter how t it? Any fog? Do you hare catarrh or asthma and lung diseases? Is it as healthy aa in the Sacramento of California? What are your most diseases you have? How many months do you have to wear un derclothes?
