Ity the state the Hmdlcy Im-iileiil i lookwl iimii one of the moitt important features nf their oa- In support of the Orchard story, The tl-fenp ha all along maintained that th attempt to poison Hradley and his whole household and the explosion at the house which On-hard nay was caused by a bomb placed by him, are a fabrication. Orchard says that he wa cnminisiiiiined lij- Haywood to go to San Franriscn and kill Ilradlcy who had been a consistent enemy to organ ised lnlmr. Ili swore that he first, poisoned the milk with ar-enlo and fail ing in this placed a homh nmler the Bradley's front door mat with a string attached to the door handle. It was, according to Orchard one of the lxml invented by Pettthone. At the time given by Orchard an ex plosion occurred at the Huntley house just a Hradley hiinelf was coming out of the house smoking n cigar, Ilradley was terribly mangled but recovered and the front porch of the hnus was biy damaged. Shortly after the explo ion the owner of the house sued the a company for damages and got a judgment lieouus of an evajie of gas which, it was rlaime-l, caused the ex plosion. Then came the Orchard con fession and an appeal was taken against the judgment, but the higher court "lis. lained the lower. When the case against Haywood came up a commission as appointed to go to San Francisco and take depositions. Vn-d Miller, foe the defense and Mr, Van Diiyn of the prosecution were se lected. The depositions are lengthy and the whole of the two session, to day probably will be taken up In the rondlng. Ilradley otill maintain his flrt po sition that the explosion was caused by gas, but he modified hi positive claim in thai he ay the theory of a bomb is possible. He does not deny that the milk wa poisoned. All of the witnesses so far examined under the depositions, however have ad mitted that the main feature of Or chard's account are within the hounds of possibility. Orchard say that the bomb was placed under the door mat and Mr. Ttrn.IIey says thnt tils fnc was filled with the particles from the mat and with glass from the door. It is not likely now that Mover will go on the stand before tomorrow morn ing. Hi testimony will probably take one day and n Thursday Haywood will lai called. Itis examination will pro bnldy take the remainder of the week and the stale's rebuttal is ha'rdly looked for before next Monday. Take the Postmaster's Word For It. Mr. F. M.
