M, for the necessary grading; the furnishing of all material and the construction of certain sidewalks in the City of West Seaside, One-gon, altetrnate bids ifor furnishing lumber and other required material only, and also for labor .in construction of walks only, will also be received, all in the manner provided by Ordinance No. 9, subject, to the provisions of the Charter of the City of West Seaside, Oregon, and in strict conformity with specifications, profile, blue prints showing section of sidewalk required on Ocean front, and locations of Grove six foot walk, all of which may be seen and examined by intending bidders, either at the office of Hon. Dan J. Moore, at the Hotel Moore, in West Seaside, Ore., the office of G. id. Grimes, Recorder of the City of West Seaside, Oregon, or at the office of A. G. Long 45 and 47 North Fifth street, Portland, Oregon. The sidewalks to be constructed are spproximately 2840 feet long on ocean front, and 4400 feet long through Grove. A separate bid is required for the necessary grading and moving of trees. No proposal or bid will be con sidered unless accompanied by a cheek payable to the order of Dan J. Moore, Mayor o.f West Seaside, Oregon, certi fed by a responsible bank, lor an amount equal to three per cent of the aggregate proposal, to be forfeited as liquidated damages in case the bidder neglects or refuses to enter into con tract, and provide a suitable bond, for the faithful performance of saw work, in the event the contract is awarded to him. Amount of bond required will be the amount of contract. Proposals must be enclosed in an envelope, endorsed on the outside, "Proposal to furnish ma terial and construct sidewalks," or "Pro- posal to furnish labor or material only," as may be the case, or "Proposal to do grading," addressed to A.
